Colorado’s Environment:
Colorado’s natural world makes this state one of the most
desirable places in the nation to live. It’s our job to preserve
this world for next generations.
- Environmental laws have helped Colorado maintain clear and clean
rivers and streams, clean air, and unpolluted lands. They have
helped us remove pollution at Rocky Flats, Rocky Mountain Arsenal,
Summitville, and other locations. These laws, both state
and federal, are critical to maintaining nature's
abundance. They should be fully implemented.
- Our lands, state and federal, should not be sold off
willy nilly. State and federal agencies should strive
to keep natural lands intact and whole.
- State, county, and city agencies should coordinate efforts to
maintain natural boundaries to protect riparian zones
and endangered species. Efforts should be undertaken
to respect property rights and the environment.
- Fire management should be consistent with sound management of
forests and property. Fire management should be funded
to protect lives first and ensure sufficient response to fire
dangers.
